Barcelos Rooster Soap

150g moisturizing soap with a very mild scent, packaged with images of the Rooster of Barcelos, officially one of the symbols of Portugal.

Legend has it that in medieval times, an inexplicable crime occurred in the city of Barcelos. A young Galician man who was passing through the region was accused and sentenced to hang. Innocent, he asked to be taken to the judge, and so it was done. Reaffirming his innocence, he pointed to a roast chicken on the banquet table and said, “I am as innocent as that rooster will crow when they hang me.”

At the moment of hanging, the rooster stood up and crowed! The judge, desperate, rushed to the gallows to try to prevent the injustice and… he arrived just in time!
