Socks with a pattern inspired by the Iberian imperial eagle, seeking to raise awareness of the fantastic fauna that inhabits our country (Portugal and the rest of the Iberian Peninsula) and highlighting the fact that this species is protected and on the verge of extinction.
The Iberian imperial eagle is an eagle species endemic to the southwestern Iberian Peninsula and northern Morocco. Until recently, it was considered a subspecies of the eastern imperial eagle (Aquila heliaca), but DNA studies of both birds have shown that they are sufficiently separated for each to constitute a valid species. The Iberian imperial eagle is currently endangered.
