Socks with a pattern inspired by the Iberian lynx, seeking to raise awareness of the fantastic fauna that inhabits our country (Portugal and the rest of the Iberian Peninsula) and raising awareness of the fact that this species is protected and on the verge of extinction.
The Iberian Lynx has a short tail, brush-shaped tufts of black hair at the ends of the ears and long limbs, a very dense pattern of black spots, and the tufts of hair on each side of the face are the longest of the genus. The very light ventral coat is also distinctive of the species.
Despite the high degree of threat, conservation efforts are being successful. The main threats are habitat loss, reduction in the wild rabbit population and unnatural mortality. It is included in Appendix I of CITES*.
